The project is located in Southern Iraq, approximately 65 km northwest of Basrah and 150 km northwest of Um Qasr, and operates on an area 50 km x 12 km. Operated by a major IOC, it is one of the world’s largest oilfields. The Early Works Programme for the project involves a phased approach to increase initial oil production in the field; refurbishing and repairing existing facilities, designing and constructing new infrastructure and transportation capabilities. The aim is to increase production to the original nameplate design of the existing facilities.
Security & Infrastructure Solution
Restrata’s scope of works was the detailed design and implementation of a fully integrated security solution for Phase 1 of the security infrastructure project, focusing on securing the existing degassing stations (DS’s) and upgrading field checkpoints. The aim was to put in place a full surveillance capability for the oilfield, and to ensure proper access control to all of the operational areas.
The security systems to be installed included the following:

- Vehicle Access Control System (VACS)
- Security CCTV System
- Ground Radar Surveillance (GRS)
- Facility Monitoring System (FMS)
- Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) System
- Antenna Towers and Foundations
