Strategic Partnership

The HSE arm of Restrata, formerly known as Stirling Group, has formed a strategic partnership with Shetland Facilities Management (FM) to further expand its HR response service to companies operating in the Northern North Sea.

With considerable experience in developing, deploying and providing the arrangements required by organisations to manage incidents effectively, Restrata will now deliver a HR response facility in the West of Shetland, in addition to its existing services in the Southern North Sea and Liverpool Bay area.

HR Response

Through this new partnership, Shetland FM will work alongside Restrata to mobilise a HR responder in the event of an incident to look after the welfare of people who may have been evacuated to the islands.

Facility Management Services

Launched in 2014, Shetland FM provides 24/7 personnel support to companies which require hotel services, recreation and welfare, security and logistics. At present the company delivers full facility management services to the Laggan-Tormore construction project adjacent to the Sullom Voe Oil Terminal in Shetland, and manages the nearby 426-room Sella Ness accommodation facility.

Focused on providing risk management across the full HSSE spectrum, including HR response, Restrata works with a range of high risk industries across the world to help establish the necessary emergency response and crisis management arrangements to allow organisations to respond effectively and responsibly to any incident.

Alan McIntyre, UK manager for crisis and continuity management at Restrata said: “Partnering with Shetland FM will allow us to provide on the ground support to manage and respond to incidents in the Northern North Sea, reinforcing our commitment to deliver a full range of services to help organisations reduce risk and increase safety performance.

“Incident management is a huge responsibility and it cannot be carried out effectively without having the required support in place, coupled with tried and tested plans, the appropriate training and resources.

“Following an increase in offshore activity across the West of Shetland, it’s more important than ever that companies are equipped and prepared to deal with all possible eventualities. With Shetland FM’s experience in providing around the clock personnel support, and with its excellent local knowledge we will now be able to develop, implement and maintain the necessary systems required to protect and care for offshore workers in the region.”

Shetland FM executive chairman Frank Strang said: “We are delighted to have teamed up with Restrata and look forward to supporting them with our first-class on-island personnel.

“As the West of Shetland frontier develops in the years ahead, we are uniquely placed to deliver this kind of service along with the full range of FM services from accommodation through security to transport and maintenance.”
