BACKGROUND

Restrata provided a 24 hour on-call Incident Management Centre (IMC) (Emergency Response Service Centre) for BG between July 2012 and November 2016, prior to their acquisition by Shell. This included the provision of a dedicated Incident Management Room, Relative Response Room, Media Response Room, Business Support Room and a room that is approved by BEIS as an OCU (Operations Control Unit). The contract also included the provision of a 24 hour on call Response personnel including a Control Room Operator, Emergency Coordinator (Team Leader), Health Safety, Environment and Quality Advisor (HSEQ), Human Resource Advisor, Logistics Coordinator, Log Keeper/Action Keeper, Media Advisor and Relative Response Team. During the delivery of the contract, Restrata delivered a number of role specific training courses for various BG members of staff including the provision of Family Liaison Training in addition to roles mentioned above. Additionally, Restrata conducted regular table top exercises, monthly simulated and full–scale live exercises to test BG’s emergency response during normal operations and campaign specific activities.

PROJECT

The services delivered by Restrata included:

Gap Analysis – Review and update of offshore & onshore emergency plans

Provision of dedicated 24-hour ERSC/IMC with a team of responders utilising command and control software to manage the flow of information in the Incident Management Room.

Live mobilisation of the IMC and IMT in response to any BG incidents.

Development and delivery of role specific training (including Family Liaison).

Delivery of various table top, simulated and full–scale live exercises.

Delivery of campaign specific exercises in relation to drilling, maintenance & subsea activities to test intercompany interfaces.

Development and delivery of full scale SOSREP exercises.

SOLUTIONS/SERVICES

All set project milestones were delivered to the satisfaction of BG. Project delivered on budget which successfully led to a further extension of the contract until November 2016 when BG became part of Shell.
