Case study – Security Risk Assessment – Dubai World Trade Center

Location: DWTC, Dubai, UAE

Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) attracts the major players of global enterprises every year, hosting over 500 events, more than 1.4 million visitors and 6,000 exhibitions on an annual basis. It is therefore not surprising that DWTC must make security their number one priority to ensure the smooth running of these significant global events and more importantly the safety of the millions of visitors who pass through their doors.

PROJECT

This programme included a combination of new developments comprising, retail, offices, Ibis Hotel and Back of House facilities. Restrata was tasked to undertake a security risk and threat assessment, concept design and peer review services for expansion of the DWTC facilities. Restrata also acted as the client representative w.r.t. conducting security design reviews submitted by the engineering consultant.

Restrata deployed a dedicated team of professionals, each with many years of experience of working on high profile projects, and specific knowledge of security and safety requirements for public buildings and experts in crowd management. Our engagement was successful and Restrata were invited back to provide site wide Security Threat & Risk Assessment and Security Audits, with a following engagement for Technical Feasibility studies across high risk areas of the development.
