Restrata was chosen by Kerzner International to provide an integrated physical and electronic security solution for the iconic majestic focal point of Palm Jumeirah, Atlantis The Palm, Dubai. Atlantis is located on the outer crescent of the Palm Jumeirah, a man-made island that has captured the world’s imagination with its magnificent scale and ingenuity.
This prestigious development consists of a 5–star hotel with over 1500 rooms, conference centre and retail village. In addition, it has the largest water park in the region with a capacity for some 10,000 visitors daily and the high profile Dolphinarium making this resort one of a kind in the UAE.
Restrata has provided detailed Threat and Risk assessments, worked alongside the architects to provide security through landscape designs, developed both the conceptual and detailed designs and was involved with overseeing the installation of the security systems, including the test, acceptance and commissioning stages.
Article I. Threat and Risk Assessment Report
This report was based on intelligence from our in-house strategic consultancy division (A2), local sources, carrying out a site survey, analysis of information gathered from the Dubai police and the local and international press. This report identified the assets and risks and recommendations to mitigate the risks
Article II. Conceptual Design Security Stage
The conceptual design stage made recommendations to combat the risks identified by the threat and risk assessment reports. This included CCTV, access control, vehicle barriers, control room design, standoff areas, intrusion detection devices, people flow and set the standard that the security design should follow
Article III. Detailed Security Design Stage
This involved developing the concept design up to the detailed design for tender purposes including final positions of equipment, power requirement, specifications of equipment and detailed drawings
Article IV. Contract Administration
The installation of works, testing and commissioning, the Staff Training Programme and the development of the Security Maintenance Plan were completed at the end of 2008
