ExxonMobil’s history in Saudi Arabia began over 90 years ago with the marketing of petroleum products, followed 20 years later by participation in the original Arabian American Oil Company (Aramco). It is the policy of the company to operate in a manner that protects the safety of the staff, other people involved in its activities, the customers, and the general public. Seizing the initiative, ExxonMobil wanted to develop their own staff in Armoured Vehicles.
Restrata was approached by ExxonMobil to design and deliver a Train the Trainer Course for B6 Armoured Vehicles Defensive Driver Training. The Project Aim was to prepare Exxon Staff to be effective trainers in Defense Driver Training Armored Vehicles, providing them with the tools to analyze, plan, deliver and validate training. Participants practiced delivery through several rounds of presentations and training sessions focusing on Train the Trainer in aspects of Armoured Vehicles Driving and Safety. Participants also learned how to use advanced training aides and tools including case studies, role-plays, surveys, self-assessments, and audio/visual tools.
The Train the Trainer course was a mix of theory, role-plays, practice delivery and exercises to give participants a practical toolkit to deliver engaging training that drives behavioral change. Like all our courses, it follows our Do – Review – Learn – Apply Model. Trainers were equipped with the right skills, attitude and knowledge to:
- Understand the theoretical driver training process by a detailed examination and study of course materials and be able to deliver high quality classroom based input
- Understand the practical driver training process and be able to apply the theoretical knowledge to on-road situations
- Understand the difference between Lead Instruction and Coaching
