Blog Series: ‘Miles to Go’ – Exploring the foundations of resilience & continuity
    Blog 1: The Journey Begins

Welcome to Miles to go – a blog series about resilience, business continuity, and crisis management, drawn from Owen Miles’s experience working with over 800 customers across 33 countries over a 20 year period.

I’m Owen Miles, VP of Solutions Engineering for EMEA at Restrata. Before joining Restrata, I spent years at Everbridge, helping organizations navigate the complexities of operational resilience. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with companies across industries and continents, each facing unique challenges but united by a common goal: to be ready for whatever comes next.

    Why “Miles to go”?

The title is a play on my name, yes—but it’s more than that. It reflects three things:

    • The journey: Resilience isn’t a destination. It’s a continuous path of learning, adapting, and improving.
    • The brevity: Each post in this series is short and sharp, designed to deliver insight without the fluff.
    • The reality: No matter how far we’ve come, there are always miles to go before we can truly say we’re resilient.

This series is not about theory. It’s about what works in the real world—what I’ve seen, what I’ve learned, and what I believe can help others build stronger, more adaptable organizations.

Whether you’re a resilience professional, a business leader, or just someone curious about how organizations prepare for the unexpected, I hope you find value in these posts.

Next Week: We’ll take the first step by exploring what resilience really means in a global context—and why your definition might be holding you back.
