In July 2020, the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) hired Restrata to help deliver the first bio secure Test Match series, between England and West Indies in Southampton.

By implementing Restrata Platform’s COVID Safe, the England & Wales Cricket Board could:

  • Implement track and trace solutions in real-time
  • Divide the stadium and venues into specific zones to control the number of people working in each section
  • Comply with the Government’s requirements on social distancing, capacity limits and zone access rights
  • Monitor capacity in all areas of the stadiums 24/7

Whilst the Government’s rules at the time did not enable fans to return to the stadiums, the Test series still had over 450 people working at each Test venue, including both teams, support, and stadium staff as well as the media. Working together with ECB, Bluetooth technology was installed at Ageas Bowl and Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Stadiums, ensuring all who were present felt safe and secure and most importantly enjoy the Test series.
